When Rachel Peru carried out her 2024 Body Confidence Survey the highest percentage of answers to that question was ‘It’s been so long I can’t remember’
That is why AWWA’s AWWAsome Fit & Live Mannequin Experience, is all about encouraging women to have their bras measured and fitted professionally.
The right underwear makes a big difference
A well-fitting bra can change posture and body shape. It can help with aches and pains you might have in your upper body and help the clothes you wear fit and look better. Style and shape of bras need to be considered as well, what suits one can be wrong for the other, your knickers are the same. Improving your bra fit and the underwear you have on under your clothes really can help with body confidence and self acceptance.
Live Mannequins
AWWA will be collaborating with lingerie stores to hold fitting days. To encourage women to step inside, AWWA Co-founders, Rachel Peru and Tina Boden, will be appearing in the store windows as Live Mannequins wearing a selection of lingerie and swimwear that the stores sell.
The first stop on the AWWAsome Fit and Live Mannequin Roadshow was at Sheer Bliss in Knaresborough on Saturday 25th October, 2025. Jayne Winn launched her Autumn and Winter Collections that day welcoming customers old and new with a glass of fizz. Rachel and Tina spent a couple of hours in the boutique window with lots of thumbs up and waves from midlife women as they walked past or drove by in their cars.
Rachel and Tina then headed to The Fitting Room, Ilkley on 25th November 2025 where their Live Mannequin appearance in the store window had people stopping in their tracks to check the people in the window were actual real.
